Wallace Creek EE Club meeting

The Wallace Creek Extension Education Club met Thursday, January 19 at the home of Imogne Hawkins.President Lynn Blankenship called the meeting to order. The members answered the roll call "Name something you have in your purse that is necessary." There were no minutes from the last meeting, but the report of the November Thanksgiving Dinner and the results of the San Saba County Pecan Food Show was given for the members of the club. The treasurer's report was given. In the council report, future announcements were given: The February council meeting will be Thursday, February 2, instead of the third. The February meetings of all the EE Clubs in the county will meet at the Rylander Library, February 15 at 2:00 p.m. The program will be "Flowers and Insects" by Terry Fischer. Lunch and Learn will be February 29 at the Civic Center, at noon. The program will be the two candidates running for sheriff, Allen Brown and Steve Boyd. District TEEA meeting will be in Ballinger, April 10, two delegates will be selected to attend.Suggestions for a fund-raising was discussed, more information will be needed by the next meeting.The meeting was adjourned.Mary Jane Dennis gave the program "Buy USA." She gave a very informative program. She had researched items made in the USA compared to out of the country. When shopping look for items made by Americans. This will employ more Americans. The cost will be comparable. Buy USA.The hostess, Imogene Hawkins served refreshments to Lynn Blankenship, Doris Cates, Jackie Doner, Noma Fitzgerald, Gloria Lusty, Marilyn Miller, Margie Osburn, and guest, Mary Jane Dennis.
