It’s hard to believe it’s already the end of January! Kids have been hard at work with basketball and stock show happenings. Last Monday, the junior high hosted Lometa. Both teams won! On Tuesday night the varsity hosted two tough Menard teams. Both teams lost. On Friday, the Indians and Lady Indians traveled to Lometa. The girls had a very exciting, down-to-the-last-second victory! The boys came up short of a victory. This week the junior high traveled to Rochelle on Monday. The varsity teams have Tuesday night off and will host Lohn on Friday night. Also on Friday, our students participated in the San Saba County Livestock Show and Youth Fair. The following are the results. Students who have signed up to bring something for the hospitality room may bring those items to Mrs. Morrison’s room by Friday. If you’ve volunteered to help, we’d like to say “Thank you” ahead of time. These events are great ways to show how united this community is. The Cherokee community would like to express our condolences to the Menard ISD family in the loss of their student, Jonathon Burgess. Please keep this community in your prayers.
