County Court held January 23rd

The San Saba County Commissioners Court met on Monday, January 23rd in the County Judge’s Chambers. County Judge, Bryon Theodosis called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone to the Court. Commissioner Kenley Kroll gave the invocation followed by everyone joining for the pledges to the American and Texas flags.Representatives of the West Central Wireless Company, Mary Hartgrove from San Angelo and Missi Davis, from Brady, gave information about the new 3-G phones and other models and services. After deliberating and discussion, action was taken on the following items:1. Renewed the current contract with West Central Wireless for one year.2. Approved the purchase of a new Portable Breath Tester, not to exceed $400, to be used by State Trooper, Mark Owens.3. Approved to pay bills presented by County Treasurer, Gayla Hawkins.4. Commissioner Kenley gave the Sheriff’s Department a wireless phone that his precinct does not need. 5. The next Commissioners Court will be Monday, February 13th at 9 a.m.6. Received information that the medicare payments will be made online by wire transfers instead of by check.County Sheriff, Allen Brown, informed the Court that the department is in the process of checking the security system at the Courthouse.Commissioner Otis Judkins gave an update on the improvements at the airport. TxDOT - Aviation Division, is receiving bids for the 300 foot extension and new fencing at the airport. Bids need to be submitted by February 2nd. For information on submitting bids call 1-800-68PILOT (1-800-687-4568).Judge Theodosis adjourned the meeting. Mary Hartgrove and Missi Davis, and San Saba News & Star reporter, Alice Smith.
