Linda Gatliff Russell

Linda Gatliff Russell, 69, passed away on January 10, 2012, at St. David’s Hospital in Georgetown. She was born on January 8, 1943, to David Edward and Gertie Gatliff in San Saba, Texas. Linda married T.C. (Rusty) Russell on July 6, 1961. Because he was in the military, they traveled extensively during their life time. Linda loved her family, and she was known as a mother to many children, and she was always ready to claim another when the need arose. She loved to be outdoors. She had several passions, and when she wasn’t fishing, she was cooking. She also loved playing dominoes and gin rummy with family and friends.Linda is survived by her children: Tammy and Greg Gardner of Mason; Sherry Russell and Abel Morin of San Marcus; David and Donna Russell of Austin; her special friend, Bill Butler of Leander, and his son Joey Butler of Oklahoma; 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; her sisters: Mary Riser, Dorothy Duncan, Vinna Bailey, Bernice Hoskins, Brenda Bethea, Emma Havins, and numerous nieces and nephews.Preceded in death by her husband, Rusty Russell, her parents, David and Gertie Gatliff; two brothers, Bobby and David Gatliff, and sister, Gloria Lee.Officiating the service was Allan Duncan. Pall Bearers were Eric Roberson, Kevin Stogner, Thaddeus Greagley, John Rocha, Gunner Gardner, Dillion Russell, and Clifton Russell. Honorary Pallbearers were Charles Bailey, Troy Havins, Roland Hoskins Johnny Bethea, and Wayne Riser.Interment was at Hillcrest Cemetery, San Saba, Texas.The family requests that donations be made to the beautification of the San Saba Mill Pond Park in honor of Linda as she loved the outdoors and beautiful scenery.Arrangements were under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home of San Saba.
