Johnny Ray Watson, 58, passed away at his home in San Saba on January 14, 2012. He was born on May 28, 1953, to B.J. and Pearly Watson. Johnny spent most of his life in San Saba except for the time he was in the army. He married Debra Taff on February 25, 1974. He loved to spend his time on the lakes, rivers, and streams fishing. He was known to be able to catch the big one, but was always looking for the biggest one. Besides fishing he liked to fix vehicles and was very good at it.Johnny is survived by his wife, Debra Watson; two sons, John Michael (Dona) Watson and Jordan Watson, all of San Saba; grandchildren, Victoria Rose, John Michael Watson and Joseph Alan Watson; brother, Lucky Steve (Donna) Watson of Burleson, Texas; sisters, Mary Joyce and (Robert) Stacks of Brownwood; Patsy Ruth (John) Burnett of Glasgow, Kentucky; Edie Fay (Steve) Silvers of Midlothian; Judy Baker of Brownwood; and Debbie and (Marcos) Morales of Terre Haute, Indiana; and numerous nieces and nephews.Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, B.J. and Pearly Watson; his daughter, Jennifer Renee Watson Vanbibber; sister, Barbara Lackey, and two brothers, Tommy Watson and Jimmy Watson.Officiating the service is Rev. Tom Brand. Pall Bearers are Tim Vanbibber, Jordan Watson, Lucky Watson, Sr., Lucky Watson, Jr., John Michael Watson, and Steve Silvers.Services were held January,17 followed by burial at San Saba Cemetery.Arrangements were under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home of San Saba.
