Still hot as blue blazes, and still watching the sky and praying for rain, as it is needed. The stock tanks are not dry, but will be before long if the rain doesn’t come soon.

A news flash, it is raining at 3:40 p.m. Monday, but doesn’t look to be any thing but a summer shower with thunder and lightening.

The wedding celebration for R.J. and Patsy Henniger went off with many friends and relatives attending at the convention center in San Saba Friday night. They came from near and far to help R.J. and Patsy celebrate their 50-year marriage.

All of their children and grandchildren were in attendance. The three tier cake that everyone enjoyed was made by cousin Jane Clark.

Brisket, sausage, beans and all sorts of salads and side dishes were enjoyed by all the guests.

Danny and Jill Harrington and children of California were here to help with her parents 50-year wedding anniversary and to attend her class reunion Saturday in Lampasas. They stopped by the Lampasas Nursing home Sunday to visit with Uncle Elo Henniger on their way home.

Ora Beth Hicks reported that last Wednesday her and grandson John Brooks along with Raymond and Lewvon Hicks their granddaughter Laura Beth Hicks made a trip to South Carolina where they visited Belinda Wierschem in Mount Pleasant. It was the first time for John and Laura Beth to be on a beach, so needless to say they enjoyed the trip.

Charlene Brister reported her daughter Connie Campbell underwent surgery recently in Austin and had talked to Charlene Friday and reported that she was feeling much better. Connie needs everyone’s prayers.

The annual Fish Fry at the Methodist Campground will be held Friday, July 18, and everyone is invited to attend.
