Llano Memorial Hospital receives new CT, courtsey of local rancher
Thursday, July 17, 2008 • Posted July 17, 2008

Llano Memorial Hospital now has a new state of the art CT due entirely to the generosity of a rancher from Cherokee. According to Kevin Leeper, CEO, “This is the single largest gift from an individual ever received by Llano Memorial Hospital. We are truly blessed by the donor’s generosity.”

Leeper stated the Medical Director of Radiology, the Radiology Director and the administrative team evaluated different proposals prior to ordering the Phillips Brilliance 16 slice CT which was installed in June. This new system provides expanded clinical capabilities at Llano Memorial. “CT systems of this nature generally carry a price tag well in excess of $300K which indicates the magnitude of the gift.”

The donor expressed his desire to purchase the new CT in honor and recognition of all the area doctors, nurses and staff that have worked for the Llano Memorial Healthcare System all these years. He specifically acknowledged Dr. John Frederick, Dr. Janice Pruessner, Dr. David Hoerster and the late Dr. Dan Hoerster for their exceptional care of his family through many decades.

Upon learning of the generous gift in their honor, Dr. Frederick stated, “We have always strived to provide the best possible medical care to all of our patients and are very honored to have an individual express their appreciation in this manner. The new CT offers the latest in technology with additional capabilities that enables physicians at Llano Memorial to have an even greater array of diagnostic studies performed. This is a gift that benefits the entire community.”
