Elm Grove Echoes
Thursday, January 5, 2012 • Posted January 5, 2012

We have been enjoying some nice, warm weather, the last few days. No rain in the forecast any time soon. My Elm Grove rain spotter says we wound up the year with a rainfall total of 18.1 inches. This is less than usual but still better than some years. It is hard to believe, but here we are at the beginning of 2012! The Busy Bee quilters will meet next Tuesday, Jan. 10th, the 42 tournament will be at Elm Grove on the 14th. Please be sure and try to make it to the community meeting on the 21st when we will elect new officers. We were sorry to hear of the passing of Alice Jennings’ brother in Blanket. We send our sympathy to her family. I visited briefly with Sharon (Gober) Alston at church Sunday. She and her husband reside in Nachadoches, I believe, and they are faithful readers of this column. We send our congratulations to Phillip Teague and his new wife on their recent marriage. Carroll and Nelda are very pleased to have a new daughter-in-law. We have had Jaxon, Georgia and Jesse Tucker visiting with us this past weekend. They had one last day of Christmas vacation but Amy had to report back with the teachers.
