It seems everyone made it through Christmas safe and sound. The weather was cold and sorta wet, but no big white stuff like other parts of Texas had to contend with. May all of you have a Happy New Year and make it through the New Year celebration without any mishaps.Just think another year and having to remember to write 2012 instead of the 2011. It seems like we just finally learned to write 11 and now start over again with 12.Howard Rockafellow reported that his wife Carol who is a flight attendant for Southwest airlines was named the Flight Attendant for the month of December. She has been working for the airlines 10 years and it is a great honor to receive the award. She will be flying over the Christmas holiday and plans to have their Christmas on New Years with twenty-six or twenty-seven people at the ranch to help celebrate. Congratulations Carol!Tommie and Jane Tinney spent Christmas Eve and Christmas day in Canyon with their son Gary his wife Melinda and grandchildren Jacob and Shelby Rose Freeland. Jane reported that they ate too much and had a good time visiting.Bonnie Millican reported that she and Pat had company for Christmas dinner. His sister Gail Callahan and friends Nada and Gene had dinner with them and afterward they sat around the table visiting, which is something that most people don’t take the time to do now days. Their son Geoff, Lindsay and grandson Henry Millican from San Antonio will be in Friday to have their Christmas. You can bet on Bonnie going to work on getting Henry to say Grandma.She reported that the Christmas Eve Services at the Bend Methodist Church were well attended, thanks to the Meischen family who always get together on Christmas, but their numbers were down because Blake Gideon was in San Diego getting ready for UT’s bowl game and Quince and her husband was not able to come. Raymond and Lewvon Hicks’s daughter Belinda Wierschem of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina attended church with her parents. George and Mary Jane Dennis brought their grandson Matthew to church with them. He is a Marine and just home from Afghanistan. There was lots of hugging and squeezing that went on.Patsy Henniger reported that she and R. J. went to Cedar Park over Christmas to be with Mickey, Jill and Jacob Henniger. Other children who attended were Jennifer and Eric Dworsky from San Jose, California, Sarah, Dustin Hite and baby Aiden of Boulder, Colorado and Jeremy and Kayla Henniger of Austin. Everyone was there to help celebrate Jennifer’s birthday which was Saturday.Sunday Pete Henniger and boys from Lampasas joined the family for the festivities and good food. Everyone had a good time.Saturday Bob and Tammy Fullerton and their daughter Tessie Fullerton and her boyfriend Heath celebrated Christmas at the home of Jack and LaNell Daniels. Sunday Jack and LaNell went to San Angelo to have Christmas with his children, Joyce Daniels, Brenda Bandsetter and lots of grandkid, great grandkids and nephews. Jerome and Shirley Meischen will be attending the Holiday Bowl in San Diego, California to watch their grandson play football.Johnnie Keeney of Lubbock is in the hospital where she will remain until she regains some of her strength. Keep her in your prayers.Jane Clark is still improving and taking life slower than what she is used to doing, but is necessary in order for her to get back on her feet once again. She and her family need your prayers.Happy birthday goes out to Gunner Stinnett and Danny Lemons who will celebrate their birthday December 31, to Tommye Cobern whose birthday is January 1, Lillian Cobern whose birthday is January 2.Congratulations go out to John and Barbara Bourke who will celebrate their anniversary December 30 and to William and Jane Clark who will celebrate their anniversary January 1.
