Lady Dillo Basketball Report
Thursday, December 22, 2011 • Posted December 22, 2011

This past week, the Lady Dillos opened up District play as they traveled to Hico to face the Lady Tigers. The Lady Dillos fought hard but ended up falling by a score of 35-23. I thought our defense was very good and we were able to disrupt a lot of the things that Hico wanted to do offensively. We just have to do a better job of taking care of the basketball and executing on offense. Scoring for the Lady Dillos in this game were Saldivar, 2; M. Maxcey, 5; Pulatie, 7; Turner, 5; and Bauerschlag, 4.On Friday, the Lady Dillos hosted the state ranked Comanche Maidens. The Lady Dillos came out firing and had Comanche rattled early on. We held a 9-8 lead after the 1st quarter. However, the Maidens regained the lead going into halftime and eventually defeated the Lady Dillos 47-20. I was very proud of the girls and the way we competed. Comanche is a very talented team and we were able to do a lot of good things against them. We are getting better each and every game and we will only continue to get better! Scoring for the Lady Dillos were M. Maxcey with 10 and Pulatie with 10.The Lady Dillos will compete in the Thorndale Tournament over Christmas break and will resure district play against Early on December 31. The next home game will be January 3rd as we host the Dublin Lady Lions.
