Elm Grove Echoes

We have been having the usual Texas weather. Today (Monday), a cool front was to come through with severe storms. The weather man said to be alert. We did get some rain, but the skies have cleared and the sun is shining. It is supposed to be freezing again later this week. The Busy Bee quilters met at Irene Hammett’s house last Tuesday for the Christmas party. Those present were, Gloria and Fay Lusty, Marilyn Miller, Carol Orr, Irene Hammett, Irene Cummings and one visitor, Marilyn Suber. We exchanged gifts then had a tasty lunch of finger foods. It was a very nice party and we all enjoyed it. The next quilting day will be January 10th. We had a houseful at the Elm Grove Christmas Program and tree last Saturday night. Gloria Weatherman was in charge of the program. She never knows how many kids will show up and she always does a good job with however many she has. There were 40 people there and 18 of them were kids, so she had plenty. Some of the older ones opted to sit out of the program. The little ones are so cute. One little girl didn’t want to give up her king to put in the nativity scene on the table. The food was delicious as always and everyone had a good time visiting. I hope you can be there next year for a good old fashioned Christmas. Kim Tharp has recently had gall bladder surgery but was able to be at the Christmas party. Keep Walter Tharp in your prayers as he is still having some health problems. My grandson-in-law, Rex Tucker, also had gall bladder surgery last Tuesday, came home on Wednesday and back to work on Thursday! That is something else that sure has changed over the years. We plan to go to San Angelo Wednesday for an early Christmas with the Tuckers and Elizondos and Bethany Suber, then a bunch of them are going to Ruidoso for a week. We want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas!
