The Honorable Jack B. Miller of San Saba gave the Re-Dedication address at the Memorial to Pioneer Citizens of San Saba County. The ceremony was held at the monument located on the courthouse lawn.Town & Country Motor Company located on Hwy. 190 West, in San Saba recently celebrated their Grand Opening. Jim Rich is the owner of the Chevrolet Dealership which also specializes in Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Buick, GMC, Chrysler, Dodge and Plymouth.According to the San Saba Garden Club Tour of Homes Coordinator, Mrs. Sharon Hayes, the last Sunday afternoon's annual event was a "huge success". Over 225 visitors were shown through the five homes featured during the Sesquicentennial theme tour.Carl Carter received a plaque and trophy for the 1986 Outstanding Parts Performance Award from Tim Nice, representative of New Holland.Scott Pierce, son of Lewis Pierce of San Saba killed a 10 point buck opening day of deer season.50 Years AgoDecember 21, 1961

Wildbahn Martin will be home the last of the week. He is a student in the West Texas Military Academy at San Antonio.Mrs. Marvin Turley and children have moved to their home at Richland Springs.Hon. Jas. H. Baker and Family of Douglas, Ariz., are visiting at the Geo. Baker ranch above town. Mr. Baker is a product of San Saba county. He studied law under Judge Jenkins of Brownwood, and was admitted to the bar and served as district attorney of the Brownwood district for two terms.W.G. Lindsey, who has been located at Lubbock, for some months, is spending the holidays with his wife and children at Richland Springs.Hudson Graham has been employed as principal of the public school at Bend.T.M. Ripple, who is making his home at Fort Stockton, is here to spend Christmas with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.R. Ripple, in the Colony community.25 Years AgoDecember 18, 1986
