Dr. Truman Hulan Yarbrough

Dr. Truman Hulan Yarbrough was born February 14, 1938 in Cherokee, Texas to Faye Cavness and Warren Truman Yarbrough. He died on December 9, 2011 after a lengthy illness. His early years were spent in Lampasas where he graduated from Lampasas High School. He received a B.S. degree from Abilene Christian University and graduated with a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas in 1964 in Houston. He was a member of Psi Omega professional fraternity. He practiced for one year in Portland, Texas then moved to San Antonio in 1965. Truman started his dental practice in the Universal City, Randolph area where he continued to care for his patients for over 46 years until his retirement due to his health. He was a life member of the San Antonio District Dental Society, the Texas Dental Association and the American Dental Association. Truman thoroughly enjoyed his profession and was very dedicated to his patients. Truman also enjoyed the outdoors and hunting trips to Colorado. Truman and Jane Elzner were married in 1960. Dr. Yarbrough is survived by two sons, Dr. Byron Hulan Yarbrough and Brent Warren Yarbrough of Dallas. He was very proud of his grandchildren, Caroline Jane Yarbrough, Kate Conner Yarbrough and Chase Truman Yarbrough, all of Dallas.Also surviving is his sister, Darlene and husband, Dr. Gordon T. Hill of San Antonio; and two nieces, Courtney Hill and husband, Eric Chamerlain of Keller, Texas; and Kelli Hill and husband, Robert Spence of Oak Harbor, Washington; and his close friend, Nancy McCauley. The family is grateful for the wonderful dedication of his care giver, Ruthie Knox over the last several months. A memorial service was held Friday, December 16, 2011 at Sunset Funeral Chapel.
