The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met on December 8, 2011 for their annual Christmas party at the RV Community Room with ten members present for the festivities: Jo Anne Hardy, Jo Ann Snow, Debbie Lee, Dorothy Sterner, Peggy Cockrell, Sandee Smith, Hattie Rogers, Janet Hoyt, Pat Ribb, and Anita Miles. Jo Anne Hardy decorated the room with a beautiful Christmas tree and red tablecloths and decorations. Jo Anne has graciously done this for our Christmas party for many years and we appreciate this gesture! The ladies played games all day and had an assortment of goodies to snack on and then had pizzas for lunch. Anita Miles gave her rap rendition of the importance of serving the Lord and led in the prayer before the meal. The ladies so very generously made a donation to the Ministerial Alliance in lieu of gifts. It was a great party and certainly gave everyone the Christmas spirit! There is a great bond of friendship between the ladies as they share not only golf, but their lives, their trials, and their joys. We always welcome new members. There was a time when there were probably thirty women in the organization, some didn’t even play golf, but just wanted to be a participant in the club and support the San Saba River Golf Course. That is so San Saba, supporting the community in all it’s endeavors! So we continue counting our blessings and knowing there is more to life that just ‘swinging!’
