Submitted by: Kolt age 9There are several Christmas books available at the Rylander Library, perfect for this time of year. One you might like to read is Just in Time for Christmas by Louise Borden. It is a story about a lost dog during the holidays. Another Christmas book with dogs, is The Fright before Christmas by James Howe. Howie the young dog is scared and Harrold the big dog along with Chester the cat discover that Howie has been bad and is afraid that the big sack that Santa has is for hauling off bad dog. This is just one funny story you might enjoy as well many other holiday and winter books that are at the library. So make a trip to the library and stock up on some Christmas stories for the days when it is too cold to go out and play. The Fire CatBy Esther AverillSubmitted by : Kort age 5 The Fire Cat is about a cat, named Pickles, with nothing to do. He lives in a barrel and has big paws. He starts chasing little kittens and Mrs. Goodkind tries to be his friend but he needs more room than her house. He gets stuck in a tree while chasing little kittens. After that, he goes to live with the firemen at the fire station. At the fire station he learns to slide down the pole, ride on the fire truck, and be nice to kittens. He even gets to have his own fire hat. He saves a kitten in a tree and learns to be helpful instead of mean.
