San Saba JV Boys Basketball

The JV boys basketball team is off to a good start so far this season. My apologies for not having an article last week, but here is a re-cap of the boy’s games.The young Dillos got off to a good start, hosting Johnson City on November 29th. The Dillos had a good night winning by the score of 47-12. Scoring totals for that game were: Garrett Welch 2, Kolton Ellis 8, Luis Vega 4, Cosme Diaz 2, Isaac Zepeda 5, Kelton Brown 14, Ismael Ramirez 2, Joe Lindsey 6, Caelob Hardman 2, and Dallas Caldwell with 2.On December 2nd and 3rd, the Dillos competed in the San Saba tournament. The JV Dillos finished first place for the first time in recent years. Their first game of the tournament was against Hamiltons JV. The Dillos won that game by the score of 38-19. Scoring for the Dillos: Welch 4, Ellis 6, Vega 11, Zepeda 4, Brown 7, And Lindsey with 2. In the championship game the Dillos beat Lampasas by the score of 45-27. Scoring for the Dillos: Welch 6, Vega 20, Diaz 2, Zepeda 3, Brown 5, Ramirez 2, Lindsey 5, and Hardman with 2.On Tuesday December 6th, the Dillos traveled to Goldthwaite. The boys pulled out a tough win by the score of 41-39. Scoring for the Dillos: Welch 9, Vega 15, Diaz 3, Zepeda 2, Brown 4, Ramirez 2, Lindsey 5, and Hardman 2.This past weekend we competed in the Hico tournament. The Dillos entered the tourney with a 4-0 record. In the first game this past Thursday, we lost to Bangs by the score of 37-29. Scoring for the Dillos; Welch 2, Ellis 2, Vega 12, Zepeda 10, and Ramirez 2. On Friday the Dillos beat Huckaby by the score of 40-31. Scoring was: Welch 2, Ellis 6, Vega 18, Zepeda 11, Lindsey 4, and Caldwell 2. Saturday the Dillos lost in the consolation game to Stephenville. The final score of that game was 32-22. Scoring was: Welch 1, Ellis 1, Vega 12, Ramirez 2, and Hardman with 7.That is a quick recap of all our games so far. This week the Dillos will play Brady on Tuesday, and Blanco will be in town on Friday evening.
