Bill Owen, Jr. passed away at the age of 80 on Monday, December 12, 2011, in Abilene, Texas. Bill was born on November 11, 1931 to William Linn Owen, Sr. and John Zack Millican in San Saba, Texas. After graduating from high school Mr. Owen enlisted in the Navy and achieved the rank of Ordinanceman. Mr. Owen was a Methodist and a longtime resident of San Saba County, a member of the Southwest Cattle Raiser Association and the Texas Cattle Feeder Association.Mr. Owen is survived by his four sons, William Linn Owen, III and wife, Patti of San Saba, John Leslie Owen of Las Molinas, California, Larry Kelly Owen of La Quinta, California, and Lonnie Carl Owen and wife, Trish of Austin, Texas. He also leaves behind his grandchildren William Linn Owen, IV, John Tyler Owen and wife Kari, Justine Owen Holmes and husband Wes, John Zack Owen and wife Jymme, and Zib Dailey Owen. Also left to cherish his memory are his great grandchildren, Cooper Wayne Owen, Joslynn Ann Owen, Ella Beth Owen, and Jaydin Lynn Owen. He is also survived by his sisters Martha Burnham and husband, Don of San Saba, and Eleanor Johnson and husband, Jerry also of San Saba; and an aunt, Nell Owen Summers of Kingsland, TX. He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.A visitation service will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 from 3 pm to 5 pm at the Blaylock Funeral Home Chapel in San Saba. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at 10 am at the Colony Cemetery in San Saba County with Brother Jack Riley officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the West Texas Boys Ranch or other charities.Services under the direction of Blaylock Funeral Chapel, 1205 S.
