1 Peter 3:15-16: “But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.”Have you ever had someone speak evil of you while you were trying your best? Did it make you feel hurt, and make you think about quitting altogether?If you did your best, then you have a clear conscience. If you keep on doing good, then those who criticized you should be ashamed of their slander. Jesus was not popular in His day among the religious leaders, and He warned us some people would seek to discourage us.
