Trick-Or-Treat for Cans
Thursday, November 10, 2011 • Posted November 10, 2011

FCCLA members went trick-or-treating for canned food items on Halloween. Not dressed in costumes but carrying recycled grocery bags, students went door to door asking local residents to donate canned food items for our local food bank. There were 26 FCCLA members and friends that participated in the event. Students collected 524 canned food items from many generous people in town. The items collected were donated to the local food bank that is headed by the ministerial alliance here in San Saba. “We hope the items will help needy families through the up-coming holiday season” says Mrs. Rogers, FCCLA Advisor. The FCCLA kids had a great time and were rewarded for their efforts with cupcakes and cookies after they finished collecting items. FCCLA officers hope to make this an annual event. Thank you to all the people in town that donated items to help our efforts to make a difference to others.
