The Drive Up Window
Thursday, November 10, 2011 • Posted November 10, 2011

Last while in town I pulled up to a drive up window at one of the local banks. A voice came over a small loudspeaker asking me what I wanted. I told them I needed to cash a check. The girl said to sign the check and put it along with my drivers license in the little plastic tube outside my pickup window. I opened the tube put in the check and drivers license and immediately it was gone, up and away it went to, I did not where. In a little bit the little plastic container returned with the money and drivers license. Later on I found out this is called a pneumatic tube system or capsule pipeline or PTT. It was invented in 1836 by a man named Murdoch and is still in use today. Seeing that system reminded me of something in the Bible. My wife and I are waiting on a new grandson to get here and it takes nine months, more or less to arrive, (Psalm 104:30) but we leave this earth in a moment, a flash or in the blink of a eye. When the spirit of man leaves or departs from the body, death occurs, (James 2:26, Psalm 104:29, Ecclesiastes 12:7). Those that have accepted Christ go to be with Him, (Philippians 1:23, Luke 16:22) . Others go to a holding place till judgment day, (Luke 16:22-30, Revelation 22:10-15). See you in Church next Sunday.
