The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met October 20, 2012 for play day with only four ladies present, but it was a fun day anyway, with the substitute chair, Sandee Hartley, calling for a game of Low Gross and Low Net. Dorothy Sterner was Low Gross and Jo Anne Hardy Low Net and she also won the Putt Pot and Chip In Pot. Great day for Jo! Jo Ann Snow and Sandee Hartley rounded out the foresome. On October 27, 2011 the usual six, Sandee Hartley, Jo Anne Hardy, Jo Ann Snow, Dorothy Sterner, Hattie Rogers, and Anita Miles planned to golf, but a little shower and wind kept them indoors for card games. They had a delightful guest. A lovely lady that is visiting in our RV Park came over to meet the ladies and introduced herself. She was Trish Waddell from Vernon, British Columbia! She plans to learn to play golf and said her husband was going to teach her. She was immediately advised to go to our great pro, Keith Harris, for lessons and that it would probably save her marriage! We look forward to Trish joining us for games or golf! It’s nice to meet people from other places and learn the reasons they choose San Saba to visit! I hope that will be the continuing episode “Trish Comes to San Saba, The Pecan Capital of the World” and now you will have to wait in suspense for her reasons and the next episode! And next week, with Texas weather, we might even be out on that San Saba River Golf Course just a “swinging”!
