Elm Grove Echoes
Thursday, November 3, 2011 • Posted November 3, 2011

Cool weather is the order for the day, now. Some grasses were killed by the frost last week. Fall is just around the corner. Daylight savings time ends Sunday. You will need to “fall back” one hour before you go to bed Saturday night. The Busy Bee quilters will resume quilting Tuesday, November 8th at Irene Hammett’s house. The community meeting at Elm Grove will be November 19th. Plans will be made for the upcoming community Christmas party. Please try to attend the community meeting. Attendance has been down and more help is needed to keep the community affairs going. Buck and Carrie Jones of Elm Grove attended their daughter, Tayler’s, graduation from the naval boot camp in Great Lakes, Illinois. She will now be stationed in San Antonio. Tayler graduated from Richland Springs High School last year. Buck and Carrie live on the Holt / Elm Grove line on the former Jess Shumate place. Buck grew up in Mercury. It was good to hear from his mother, Joyce! Our Texas Rangers did not win the World Series and that was a disappointment, but they are still our team. The Richland Springs Coyotes played their last regular season game against Mullin last Friday night and beat them 48-0. The Coyotes are now district champs and headed for the play-offs. Jax, Georgia and Jesse Tucker spent the weekend with us and took in all the trunk or treat fun at the tabernacle Saturday night. They had a good time and came home with a lot of loot. Michael and Marilyn Suber are coming right down to the wire on finishing the beauty shop, but she will be open for business this week on November 1st. The phone number is still 452-3455 and the shop is located here by our house. Give her a call if you need directions. Cool weather is the order for the day, now.
