McCulloch County will be offering a Master Gardener class this fall. The fee for the class is $125 for those who commit to the Master Gardener program. The training will be offered for a fee of $175 for persons who want to attend the classes but cannot commit to the volunteer service and do not desire to earn the title of Texas Master Gardener.

The fee includes the Texas Master Gardener Handbook, a soil test by the Soil Testing Laboratory at Texas A&M University, and the background check required for volunteers who work with youth.

Registration is limited to the first 25 paid applicants, and the class will be canceled if fewer than 10 sign up. Participants from surrounding counties are invited with the understanding that their volunteer service may be satisfied in their county of residence. The deadline to register is August 22, but don’t wait until the last minute since space is limited.

In addition, some of the sessions may qualify for pesticide CEU’s and interested individuals may register for a single session for a fee of $10.00. Detailed information will be available at a later date. Applications can be picked up at the McCulloch County Extension office at 114 W. Main in Brady or can be sent to you upon request by calling the office at 325-597-1295.
