No weather report this week, just too darn hot and dry to talk about. Pat and Bonnie Millican recently returned from a trip to Greece. They reported the weather over there wasn’t any cooler than here.

It was reported that Rufus and Tommye Cobern had company over the Fourth, but not sure which children came in.

Robert and Spring Price and daughter Haley attended the wedding of her brother, Jonathan Grey, and LaDonna McCutcheon in Burnett Saturday night. The couple will reside in Burnett.

Things were pretty quite around the Bend. The family of William Clark enjoyed their Fourth celebration fireworks on Saturday. Those attending were Elsa Dean Shirley of Portales, N.M., and her grandchildren: Cayman and Timber Rogers of Cloud Croft, N. M., and her son, Kenneth Shirley of Claude; Bobby Clark of Round Rock; Boyd, Melissa, Eli and Silas Clark; Doug, Kristi, Jordan and Jaylee Messer of Lampasas; Jamie, Andrew and A.J. Houdyshell; and Jack and LaNell Daniels of Bend.

Members of the Brister clan that came from the family reunion to enjoy the fireworks were: Emerson and Gladys Brister, their daughter, Gayle Reinhardt and granddaughter, Marissa, of Leesburg, Virginia; Larry and Debbie Brister of Texarkana, Louisiana, and their sons, Luke and J.W.; Thomas Brister and daughter, Sierra of Hutto; and Walter, Ethan and Elliott of Thorndale, Texas. The Brister family held their family reunion over the weekend and the younger members stayed on for their annual cousins gathering at the old Brister home place.

Happy Birthday wishes go out to Emerson and Larry Brister who will celebrate a birthday July 13, and to Katharine Hicks who will celebrate a birthday July 17.
