Have you ever witnessed the birth of something special? If you were at the Pecan Jam you did. This event could help the town of San Saba and local businesses stay afloat during these uncertain times. The beauty of San Saba will be talked about, along with the warm-hearted friendly people and hopefully that alone will bring in visitors to our wonderful town. I went to the Pecan Jam expecting the same old, same old, but discovered a family friendly event in a beautiful location, under the shade of grand old Oaks, and Pecan trees, the music of the river making the sweetest sounds between the fantastic music from the bands. There was music for everyone’s liking, and friends and neighbors all there. With local vendors we all know and consider a part of our family, and for most of us related somewhere down the line, The San Saba Pecan Jam was a well thought out and fun event, and for me I couldn’t see any glitches.Thank you City of San Saba, for making the Jam possible and to Tony Guidroz, what can we do to thank him for his tireless work and the fantastic MC job he did at the Jam, to keep things moving and announcing all the events. My favorite Tony moment was when he joined the family band of Classie Ballou for a foot stomping, tail shaking rendition of “I’ve Been Loving You Too Long.” Thank you to all the volunteers and anyone else that made my time at the Pecan Jam so special. A Big Thanks goes out to the McHenrys for all they have done in organizing the Pecan Jam.I look forward to next year’s Jam. I hope we can keep the same small town feel, with fun for locals and out-of-towners as well. That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it.Have you ever witnessed the birth of something special?
