Coyote 5th/6th grade team look for 3-peat!
Thursday, October 27, 2011 • Posted October 27, 2011

The Richland Springs Coyote 5th/6th grade Pee Wee football team showed why they have won back-to-back Six-Man Pee Wee Super Bowl Championships! They totally dominated the Rising Star Wildcats this past Saturday in Zephyr by a score of 50-6 and improved 5-0! The Coyotes rushing attack was too much for the Wildcats to stop. Hutton Lusty scored two touchdowns from 2 and 15 yards out. Michael McElvain added three rushing touchdowns from 5, 24, and 60 yards out. It was McElvain’s impressive kickoff returns that also killed the Wildcats chances even more. He returned two for touchdowns from 46 and 51 yards away! Brandon Tharp added four PAT kicks. Cameron Parham came up with a big fumble recovery for the Coyote defense. Santiago Valdez made a crushing tackle for the Coyotes kickoff coverage team. Jordan Burkhart led the Coyote offense at quarterback and made many key cut blocks that gave the Coyote rushers the open lanes to score touchdowns. The Coyote defense was relentless and gave their opponents very little opportunities to move the ball. They will play this Saturday, October 29th in Brookesmith with the kickoff set for 11:45am. This group of kids will try to crown themselves as 3-peat Super Bowl Champions! This years team members are: Hutton Lusty, Jordan Burkhart, Chandler Lusty, Cameron Parham, Michael McElvain, Kenneth Faught, Brandon Tharp, Santiago Valdez, Nathan Stevens, and Levi Shannon. Coaches Bucky Lusty, Daniel Stevens, Steven Tharp, and Rick Parham. Come out and support our future Coyotes! GO COYOTES GO!
