The San Saba County Commissioners Court met Monday, October 24th at 9:00 a.m. in the County Judge’s Chambers. County Judge, Byron Theodosis called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone to the court. County Commissioner, Rickey Lusty gave the invocation followed by everyone joining for the pledges to the American and Texas flags.County Sheriff, Allen Brown, reported the following:1. The jail is at capacity at this time. There are also some prisoners housed out of county.2. Ready for District Court cases.3. Working on the part time dispatchers schedule.4. A vehicle is being repaired after sustaining damages during a pursuit.5. A new deputy will be assigned to Richland Springs.6. Will have an update and report on department activities next month.7. Looking for a good used transport vehicle.8. The Tax Office is now set up for people to get their licenses on-line.The Commissioners discussed the possibility of having an interim county attorney.The Commissioners approved the following items:A. For the Friends of the Rylander Memorial Library to purchase from San Saba County any books which are removed from The Rylander Memorial Library Collection by the Librarian, Mary Lee Calder.B. The San Saba County 2012 Holiday Calendar was reviewed and accepted.C. San Saba County, #305, authorization to maintain TCDRS plan provisions, Plan Year 2012 with no changes from last year.D. Last payment of $10,000 to TxDOT for County Airport. City of San Saba, County of San Saba and donations contributed to the total amount of $125,000.E. Accounts payables presented by County Treasurer, Gayla Hawkins.Action was taken on the following items:a. The Court appointed Rickey Lusty to serve on the Board of Directors of the San Saba County Appraisal District for the 2012 and 2013 term. b. After discussion, the Court lifted the Burn Ban. People will need to be cautious when burning because of windy conditions and agriculture burns should take necessary precautions. c. The next Commissioners Court will be Monday, November 14th at 9 a.m. d. Marsha Hardy, County Coordinator, gave recognition to Commissioner Pat Pool for the excellent work he has done grading his precincts roads. The Court agreed there should be a public “thank you” for the good appearance of Precinct 4 roads. e. Two important events happening in the county are the Health Fair on November 1st at the Civic Center and the SSISD Bond Election on November 8th.
