The Eagles recorded only 2 official tackles as the Coyotes scored on an astonishing 9 of 11 plays from scrimmage (splat, splat, splat etc). Oh yeah, this one did have the mercy rule enforced at halftime, in fact, it was 46-0 at the end of the first quarter! All-State Tight End, Ben VanCleave in spite of a cracked windshield, i:e broken thumb, caught touchdown passes for 27 yards and 41 yards. Sophomore Ty Mann squashed several bugs on a run for 34 yards and a touchdown and splattered a couple more when he recovered a fumble in the endzone for 6 more points. Varsity newcomer, Chris Munoz scored on a 30 yard pass from Reeves (splat). Patrick Phillips intercepted a broken wing Eagles pass and returned it for 30 yards and a touchdown (splat). Thomas Fowler and Patrick Phillips both had catches for nice gains (splat,splat). Corey Bessent kicked nine PATs for 18 very important points.(kersplat) Chance Bush led the smothering Pack defense with 8 tackles, with Ben VanCleave and Thomas Fowler, each recording 5 tackles, with bug splats (sacks) in the backfield. Winston Poe had a great game with 4 tackles including 1 splat for a loss and several passes defensed. The Coyotes limited the Eagles to -5 yards passing on 4 completions and 57 yards rushing on 22 attempts with 60 yards coming on one play, so on 21 tries the Eagles had -3 yards rushing. The Mustangs are coming off a district loss to Mullin last week, but have put up good offensive numbers all year, scoring 112 points in a win against Novice.
