This is a crack in the slab at the Museum. It’s been there a long time and has been getting deeper and wider. Recently, a Museum Board Member (who talks fairly slowly and has a bit of a Texas twang) said, “Y’know, that crack in the slab is gettin’ so deep and wide that critters could come right up through it.” Well, that did it. After the ladies settled down a bit, the Board decided it was finally time to fix the foundation. The repair, which will involve installing 22 exterior unipile piers down to bed rock along the east and south walls of the Museum, will cost almost $8,000. If you’d like to help with this project, please send your contribution to the San Saba County Historical Museum Foundation, Inc., P. O. Box 242, San Saba, Texas 76877.
