Interim EMS Director introduced at regular meeting of Commissioners Court

The San Saba County Commissioners Court met Wednesday, October 12th at 9 a.m. in the County Judge’s Chambers. County Judge, Byron Theodosis called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone to the Court. Commissioner Kenley Kroll gave the invocation followed by everyone joining for the pledges to the American and Texas flags.Dottie Brooks, from Scott & White Health Care, gave a presentation regarding county em-ployee insurance.The following County Official and Departmental reports were approved subject to audit: a. District/County Clerk presented by Kim Wells.b. County Treasurer presented by Gayla Hawkins.c. County Justice of the Peace presented by Judge Les Dawson.d. County Sheriff & Jail submitted by Sheriff Allen Brown.The following Departmental Reports were accepted: County Judge; County Extension Agents; County Indigent Health Care by new Director, Marsha Hardy; County Grant Writer; County EMS billing; County Emergency Management Coordinator; County On-Site Sewage Facility Management Coordinator; County 9-1-1 Coordinator; County Trapper.The following Action Items were accepted and approved by the Court:A. Proclamation Recognizing the Centennial of the San Saba County Courthouse in the month of November 2011.B. Proclamation in support of San Saba River Pecan Jam to be held at Risien Park on October 22, 2011.C. The STEP quarterly report from Amazing Grants.D. Administrative Order setting Compensation and Expenses of Court Reporters for 33rd and 424th Judicial District Court; an annual renewal.E. Payment of bills presented by County Treasurer, Gayla Hawkins.Linda Hardy and Cissy Williams, members of the San Saba EMS Commission were welcomed to the meeting and gave an up-to-date report. Wymond Kraft, EMS Director, resigned his position effective October 19th. Ms. Williams introduced the new Interim EMS Director, Pat Burnham Pratt, who has 20 years experience in the EMS field. Ms. Williams announced she will resign from the EMS Commission effective January 1, 2012. The Court discussed the following items:1. A request for a reduction of outstanding property tax from an area businessman who owes the county $13,661.68 was discussed and no action taken.2. Discussed the plan for San Saba County Trustee Inmates to provide service at the San Saba County Courthouse, contingent on provisions of the jail standards.3. Discussed the Incorporated Cities of San Saba County’s participation through Interlocal Agreements in appropriate County expenses.4. After discussion, the Burn Ban will remain in effect in San Saba County.County Treasurer, Gayla Hawkins, reported a new county employee, Dispatcher Michael Vines. Marsha Hardy has accepted the position of County Indigent Health Care Program Director. Cathi Miles and Jennifer Flemming will assist her with details and in learning the system.Judge Theodosis adjourned the meeting. Those in attendance were: County Commissioners, Pat Pool, Kenley Kroll, Rickey Lusty, Otis Judkins; County Judge, Byron Theodosis; Chief Deputy, Bill Price; County Coordinator, Marsha Hardy; County Clerk, Kim Wells; Administrative Assistant, Cathi Miles; JOP, Les Dawson County Treasurer, Gayla Hawkins; Randy Robison, citizen observer; Alice Smith, San Saba News & Star Reporter.F.
