The past couple weeks have been busy for the cross country team. Last week we traveled to Lometa on Sept. 27

On Wednesday, Oct. 5

In the boys division, Hector Paez placed 6

Over the past couple weeks, I thought our kids competed extremely hard and I was very proud of them. As I’m writing this, all I can think about is district being two weeks away and how anxious I am for all the kids. We should do great things at district, but only if we continue to work hard and get better weekly. If you see one of these kids, give them a pat on the back, because it takes a special person to run cross country and get up at 5:30 every morning to be at practice. They definitely deserve to be commended for their effort and dedication to our program.

This week all the kids, junior high and high school, will be competing in Goldthwaite on Tuesday. The meet starts at 4:00. I’m hoping for some great results. Once again, thanks for all your support of San Saba athletics! Go Dillos!

th. We did pretty well overall. We had some kids place in the top 10 which is always great for kids to do. Some kids also has some personal record times they set in Lometa. I was very proud of their accomplishments there.th, the cross country team traveled to Hamilton for another very competitive meet. These girls also set a personal record for themselves at the meet. Alexa improved 20 seconds off her time, Shea improved 30 seconds off hers, and AJ improved 13 seconds. Yicelle Cuevas placed 20th with a time of 14:37, Shellby Butler came in 42nd place with a time 15:50, and Andrea Jimenez came in 68th with a time of 17:32.th with a time of 18:27, Julian Coronado came in 32nd with a time of 22:51, and Diego Lara came in 33rd with a time of 23:07.
