What in the world is the school district doing with a Facebook account? Well, I have been asked this question and asked myself this question as I work to post up-to-date comments and events on the school’s account. It took me a while to become a Facebook believer. Professional requirements caused me to get my own Facebook account initially. Until I was forced to “get connected,” I did not really see the value. Now that I am a Facebook user professionally, it became important to look to Facebook’s value to our school district. So, San Saba ISD does now have it’s own Facebook page! In a short period of time SSISD has been able to grow in Facebook friends and visitors. We have found in the short 3 week existence of the District’s Facebook page that we have found a way for parents, alumni, other schools, and grandparents near and far to stay connected to the events and happenings at the school. For many of us, the school district calendar and events drive our daily personal life. Facebook is a way to help us all remain updated on the school events, happenings and successes. We are working to get our website up-to-date and will soon have a link on the website to help you follow us on Facebook. Until then, log-in to Facebook and search of San Saba ISD. We still make some mistakes with it, but we are learning as we go and hope to make this another tool to help all interested parties stay connected with San Saba ISD. Parents, please keep in contact with your child’s teacher regarding their academic progress. Please sign up for the Parent Portal so that you can monitor grades and attendances. Working together with your child’s teacher will help make sure your child is making the progress that is needed.Parents, let us know how we can help you the first day of school all the way until the last day of school!!
