Would you believe that around the Bend over a half of inch of rain was recorded last week and some good size hail along with the rain? The hail started to fall before the rain and it continued to fall during the rain covering the ground. It was the size of a big taw marble down to pea size.That amount of ice would also add to the moisture. Much more moisture is needed, but thankful for what did fall.There were a few people from Bend who attended the Telephone Coop meeting in Brady this past Saturday. No body from the Bend was lucky enough to win one of the many prizes, but the cutting board and carving set that was passed out to everyone was really nice. That alone was worth the drive over.The home of Hugo and Lesa suffered water damage from a leak in the plumbing. She reported it damaged a wall, the carpet and was just hoping that the floor wouldn’t buckle from all the water.A birthday lunch was celebrated Sunday at the home of William and Jane Clark for their daughter Jamie Houdyshell. A.J. and Andrew Houdyshell along with Doug, Kristi and their children Jordan and Jaylee Messer of Lampasas attended to wish Jamie a happy birthday.A happy birthday goes to Mary Boyd who celebrated her 70th birthday Monday with friends at Alfredo’s in Lampasas. Cake and refreshments were served at her home later.Mary Pike and her children Steve and Lanell Dean of Midland and Danny Dean and his two sons were in visiting at her place on the Clark home place this past weekend. They were joined by her grandson and his wife from San Marcos who are expecting a little one in January. Pete, Cherie and their two sons from Lampasas as well as local relatives also joined the group. Grave side services were held for Myrtle Barefoot Saturday, October 1, at the Senterfitt Cemetery. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.Jeffery, Tanya and Ashley Chalfant was in over the weekend visiting her mother Tommye Cobern. Kerry Marley of Katy was also in and returned home Monday.Happy birthday wish goes out to Raymond Hicks, Joshua Anderson and Keith Lemons who will be celebrating a birthday October 8, to Carol Rockafellow who will have a birthday October 9, to Cody Herd whose birthday is October 13.A belated congratulation goes out to Brandon and Alisa Preece who celebrated their anniversary September 30, Congratulations goes out to Tommy and Mitz i Pulatie who will be celebrating their anniversary October 11.Would you believe that around the Bend over a half of inch of rain was recorded last week and some good size hail along with the rain?
