Traffic stop leads to felony drug arrests

Sheriff Brown conducted a traffic stop in the 600 block of East Church Street and two local men were arrested for felony narcotic charges.

James Dale Berkley and Ryan Keith Yarbrough, both of San Saba were arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine) >4 grams but < 200 grams with intent to deliver.

Brown stopped the vehicle and then called for assistance when an item was thrown out.  San Saba City Officer Jimmy Hill and San Saba Deputy James Barrows assisted Brown with the stop and after a short search, the illegal narcotics were recovered and the suspects went to jail.

Brown stated that the second best tool that we have against the drug dealers is the traffic stop, with the first being the eyes and ears of the people in our community.

The two individuals are in the San Saba County Jail awaiting bond and are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
