San Saba Cross Country Team competes in Hico Meet
Thursday, September 22, 2011 • Posted September 22, 2011

Last weekend the San Saba Cross Country team traveled to Hico on Wednesday. The meet consisted of about 20+ teams. I thought our kids did well considering it was 105 degrees outside and one of the toughest courses I’ve ever seen.

The Varsity girls started out the meet. Running in the varsity girls division was Alexa Maxcey who placed 19

In the JV girls division, we had 3 competitors. Andrea Jimenez finished 29

The Varsity boys then ran after the JV girls. Hector Paez placed 20

This week we will travel to Gatesville on Thursday morning. Varsity girls will run at 8:30 with Varsity boys running at 9:00. The kids have been working hard the past couple weeks and preparing for district. They are doing a GREAT job and I am VERY proud of them!

th, Shea Scott who placed 27th, AJ Gamboa who placed 31st, Yicelle Cuevas placed 41st, and Shellby Buttler placed 82nd. As a team we placed 6th at the meet, which is pretty good considering how many teams were there. I talked to the girls about some positives to the meet because at the time it didn’t seem like there were many until I received the official results. I am proud of their efforts, but must continue to get better. th, Ashley Pulatie followed with 33rd, and Paige Faught came in 51st place. Again, there were many girls running in this division and these three did an excellent job competing. th and Diego Lara placed 49th. These guys did a great job at the meet also. In the JV boys division, Julian Coronado placed 33rd and Jantzen Bell placed 62nd.
