Elm Grove Echoes

We are happy to report a good rain for this past weekend. The neighbors out at Elm Grove registered 2.5 inches over the weekend.

I hope we received that much at our place because we sure could use it. We are still in need of running water. We received 3.1 inches in June compared to 9.6 last year. This brings the years total to 10 inches.

G.H. Suber was here visiting over the weekend and when he got home he found that they had received 4 inches of rain while he was gone. That is very rare in Odessa.

Thanks to those who put my cows back in last weekend. An open gate was discovered to be the problem.

I attended the Richland Springs VFD fish fry fundraiser last Saturday night with Michael and Marilyn and G.H. Suber. There was a nice crowd and the fish was very good.

There were a lot of nice cakes which brought in a good bit of money. The quilt which was donated by the Busy Bee quilting club and raffled off brought in $1000.00. It was won by Velita Smith Powell. We appreciate all of the members of all our local VFD’s.

We begin another new month this week. The Busy Bee quilters will meet on the 8th. The 42 tournament will be July 12th at Elm Grove. The community meeting will be the 19th with Wilma Lee, Bonnie Evans and Kitty Cummings hosting.
