Get Involved in FCCLA
Thursday, September 15, 2011 • Posted September 15, 2011

Getting involved in your local community can be one of the most important things you do as a high school student. Not only does joining an organization get you involved, but it assists in making your resume for college or career look more impressive.

On top of being fun, joining a local organization is an excellent way to meet new friends that are interested in the same type of things and hobbies you may be interested in. Members of the same organization generally join that organization because they have common goals and care about the same things.

There are dozens of different organizations for each individual to choose from. San Saba High School’s two main organizations are FFA, which involves agriculture and is great for people who may be interested in the agricultural or animal science industry; and FCCLA, or Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America. FCCLA focuses on the local community and leadership skills of students.

Meeting new people, becoming engaged in new things, and getting that community service in can all be accomplished by participating in group activities.
