This past weekend the San Saba cross country members ran in their first meet of the year. We held the San Saba Cross Country Invitational Meet and it was a great first meet for everyone involved. The kids competed well and I was extremely proud of their efforts.
In the 7
In the 8
In JH boys we had 3 guys that competed Saturday, John Watson, Emiliano Rocha, and Logan Guidroz. I really appreciate these guys and their hard work, because they also play football and have to balance out the two. They come to every morning workout, and then have football practice in the afternoons, but they always work so hard and it is GREATLY appreciated. John Watson placed 6
In the JV girls division we had two teams. San Saba "purple" got second place in the meet, followed by San Saba "white" coming in third. Members of San Saba "purple" were: Candace Saldivar who came in 6
On the San Saba "white" were Meredith Meador who placed 13
In the Varsity girls division we also got second as a time finishing behind Harper who has an outstanding cross country program. I was very proud of the girls effort, and once again will continue to get better. Alexa Maxcey placed 5
Finally, we had the HS boys division. Once again Harper won the boys division, but we followed behind in 2
I would like to send out a HUGE thank you to everyone who helped with the meet. I couldn’t have done it without all of you. First of all a huge thank you to Alicia Cummings who helped me organize the meet and get everything ready for it. Next I would like to thank Ray Riggs for helping close down the park and making it safe for the kids to run through. I also want to thank Leigh Ann Glaze and Jeff Pannell for allowing us to have a meet this year and for all your help at the meet. Another huge thank you goes out to Jackie Dyer, Michael Bohensky, Brandi Easterwood, Laurie Slone, Marcie Maxcey, Woody Martin, Michelle Darrin, Scott Glaze, Luis Garza, and anyone else in the community that helped out with the meet.
