Fellowship of Christian Women to hold luncheon September 22nd
Thursday, September 15, 2011 • Posted September 15, 2011

Ladies at the First Baptist Church in Richland Springs have invited the ladies of our county to the September Fellowship of Christian Women’s Luncheon, beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the downstairs fellowship hall. The ladies we are treating this month are in their 60’s and we want to suggest to our other ages, that you think about bringing foods to share around the serving tables we usually enjoy in the Fall of the year. The fourth Thursday falls early in the month, so please mark September 22nd for this month’s luncheon. A nursery will be available for pre-schoolers and please bring food for your children, if you want them to eat during the luncheon.

Mrs. Steve Boyd has recently returned from a missionary trip to Nigeria, Africa and plans to come that day and share some of her experiences and challenges of going to a faraway country. Glenna will be bringing some of the African clothes made for them by some very talented African ladies. The purpose of the trip was to share Christianity in several ways. They took glasses to give to the people after they did simple eye exams with special charts. Giving reading glasses to the King of the Fulani tribe one day was a very unusual experience especially for the women of the group. Vacation Bible Schools were conducted on several days with the children along with Youth rallies. Steve and Glenna moved back to San Saba four years ago and have two adult sons. You might want to invite several ladies to carpool with you to enjoy the fellowshipping and to hear Glenna’s exciting story of her first missionary experience.
