Delton and Valerie McGuire went to East Texas to visit with their children and granddaughter Avonlea during the holiday week-end.

Nettie Jean Randolph took grandaughters Jenna, Jamie and Jessica Ball to Fredericksburg to visit with Kelli, Ashley and Paul Jenski while mom and dad, Sid and Kristi Ball, went on a short vacation.

The Cherokee Church of Christ had their monthly breakfast on Labor Day. There was a large crowd even though it was a holiday. Patricia Childress made iced coffee for those who wanted it.

The Duggan family had a birthday party for Danny Duggan at the Church of Christ annex on Saturday. Many from Cherokee and other places came and spent time sharing memories of Danny. There was lots of food and good fellowship. All the children were able to be here with Janiece. Jared came in from Alaska where he and his family live. He is stationed in the airforce. Malcom came in from Washington state. Ryan and his family were there along with Kaci, Tommy and girls. It was good they could all be together. Danny would have been 60. Janiece will make her new home in Abilene. We wish her well.

Paula Windham’s parents came for a visit with Larry and Paula. Also Pat and April and Ty came in to visit as well. April is expecting another little one in a few months. Paula and Larry are very excited about having another grandchild.

It was good to see Jackie Goble Marlett at homecoming. She and her daughter sang the National Anthem before the game. It was so good to hear her beautiful voice again. Jackie and her husband live in Stephenville.
