Bill Nelson 77, passed away on September 1, 2011 at his ranch in San Saba, TX surrounded by his family and his beloved dog Maggie.

Bill was born on January 8, 1934 in Great Bend, Kansas. He grew up in Ellinwood, Kansas, graduated from Ellinwood High School then followed his high school sweetheart, Nancy Olson, to Texas. He graduated from the University of Houston and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. He and Nancy were married on August 5, 1956 in Houston, TX. He worked for Brown Oil Tool putting himself through college, worked in the treasury department of Cameron Iron Works and did financial consulting work for several companies. In 1969, Bill and Nancy moved to Katy, Texas where they raised their family. In 1993, he moved to Cedar Park, TX. and started Nelson’s Landscape Services with Nancy and daughter Jami. In 1996 he and Nancy bought their ranch in San Saba. Bill loved to hunt and fish, loved his neighbors and friends and he especially loved his family.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Nelson of San Saba; son, Ken Nelson and his wife, Kathy of Bryan; daughters, Jami Nelson of Liberty Hill and Jennifer Repass and her husband, Rob of Austin; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Nelson, Drew Nelson, Wes Repass and Ryleigh Repass; sisters, Rita Miller of St. John, Kansas and Candy Faske and her husband, Alan of Katy.

In Lieu of Flowers memorials can be made to the San Saba Fire Department, EMS, and Solaris.
