San Saba JV at Ballinger
Thursday, September 1, 2011 • Posted September 1, 2011

On Thursday we traveled to Ballinger and played our first game of the season against the Bearcats. It looked very much like our first game. At times we played quite well but at times we did not play so well. We had too many missed tackles, busted assignments, and turnovers.

We played pretty good the first half and trailed by a score of 8-0. In the second half we were able to score two touchdowns but we were not able to shut down their offense. They had one of those gifted kids at QB. We did not have an answer for his athleticism. He was able to break away on two long touchdown runs that turned out to be the difference in the outcome of the game. The final score was Ballinger 24 and San Saba 12.

Scoring for the Dillos were Joel Franco and Garrett Hartranft. We had several players that played well. They were Garrett Welch at QB, Jordan Watson at LB, Joel Franco at FB, and Kelton Brown and Harttanft at RB.

We appreciate the support that we received from our fans. We hope to see you all next Thursday for our home opener
