In the 1960s, a black woman was broken down on the side of the road in a heavy rain storm. A young white man stopped and gave her a ride. She insisted on writing down his name and address.

A week later, a delivery man showed up at the door of this young man’s house with a new color TV and a note:

Thank you so much for assisting me on the highway. The rain drenched not only my clothes, but also my spirits. Then you came along. Because of you, I was able to make it to my dying husband’s bedside just before he passed away… God bless you for helping me and unselfishly serving others. Sincerely, Mrs. Nat King Cole
