Lodge meeting set for Saturday, September 3

On Saturday, September 3rd, the Freemasons of San Saba Lodge No. 612 will hold their monthly stated meeting. Douglas H. Merritt, Lodge Treasurer, will provide the main course meal of barbeque brisket and sausage which will be served at 6:30 p.m. Members are asked to bring a complimentary covered side dish, bread, salad or dessert. Lodge will begin around 7 p.m.

The Lodge charter will be draped in the memory of Ezra G. Cook. Brother Cook was born 18 May 1923 in Alpine, Texas and was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Navy. He passed from this world 17 August 2011. Cook received all three degrees in San Saba Lodge; EA 4 October 1952, FC 6 December 1952 and MM 7 February 1953. He was a 50 year member receiving that award on 24 June 2002.

District Deputy Grand Master, Chad Ray Hill, of the 70th Masonic District, will make his official visit on behalf of the Grand Master. A special video presentation will be shown entitled "A Tribute to the Flag." This video was produced by the Scottish Rite and is on loan from the Scottish Rite Bodies of Austin. All members and family members are encouraged to attend the program.
