The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met August 18, 2011 with the Chair for August, Anita Miles, calling for a game of ‘one - two - three’ where the two teams present played each other by scoring the best score on the first hole, the two best scores on the second hole, and the three scores on the third hole and continuing that sequence through the 18 holes.

The team of Sandee Hartley, Dorothy Sterner, and Jo Anne Hardy clobbered the team of Anita Miles, Hattie Rogers, and Jo Ann Snow, but they had fun in the sun anyway!

Jo Anne Hardy outdid herself by having a great round her first full 18 holes since she had knee problems shooting a scalding 45 on the front nine, she weakened on the back nine but still managed to chip in twice to split the chip in pot with Dorothy Sterner who also chipped in, and was the Low Net for the day. Dorothy was on her usual roll and split the chip in pot and also the putt pot, and was on the winning team! Anita Miles and Dorothy both came in with 28 putts! In case you are unaware, Dorothy is one of our oldest players and is impressive with her consistancy and her zest for life! Sandee Hartley scored the Low Gross for the day.

Once again the president presented her argument about meeting at 8:00 AM, ridiculously early, and once again was ignored. Janet Hoyt arrived at almost 9:00 AM as she forgot the new time for August, but she failed to support the president. Now go figure!

We had a report on our dear friend, Bobbie Churchill. She is in the Brownwood Hospital but is doing good and should be home in a few days. Bobbie has some health issues but has a wonderful attitude and perseverance, which is half the battle.

The San Saba Ladies Golf Association still urges lady golfers to give us a try and join in on this entertainment by coming out on Thursday morning and playing a round and then we have lunch together and fellowship. Thursday is LADIES DAY! And we love it! And we think you would too! It’s so healthy and fun and entertaining and joyful to just keep on "swinging!"
