Two movies at the Lantex this Friday
Thursday, August 11, 2011 • Posted August 11, 2011

For openers we will be showing the short movie made by the students of Llano High School about the Llano Red Top Jail. This movie will begin at 7:30 pm and will last about 12 minutes. As this is the official premiere of the Red Top Jail movie members of the cast and crew will be present. It is planned that they will arrive in splendor aboard a horse drawn carriage shortly after 7:00. I hope you can be there in good time to welcome them and help to make this a special occasion.

Prior to the movie program the Red Top Jail’s own ‘Jailbuck’ will be unveiled as the latest addition to Llano’s ‘Trail of the Deers’ - a marvellous creation with tattoos, striped shirt, and ball & chain.

In association with the Red Top Jail movie the 2011 Lantex Amateur Short Movie Competition will be announced. For details and entry form send an email to

lantexfilmsoc@llanomainstreet.com.

At about 7:45 pm we will begin our feature movie: ECHOTONE. This movie is part of the Texas Independent Film Network program.

Living in a quiet town in the Texas Hill Country, it is easy to forget that just over an hour’s drive away is a world-renowned hotspot of modern music. Imagine, if you like, what might happen if an up-market residential tower block were dropped into the middle of one of the loudest and liveliest party neighborhoods on the planet. Or, you could watch the movie for a vivid account of the situation.

One of the residents of the tower block complains that it felt as though terrorists had invaded his bedroom at 2:00 am. One of the partygoers explains that it is actually the tower block that invaded a loud music neighborhood that has been in existence for many years.

Watch the trailer at http://www.echotonefilm.com/ to judge for yourself.

As usual for a film society event all seats will be $5 except, for this special occasion only, there will be a $2 discount for anyone who shows a Llano High School ID.
