Steve Taff

Steve Taff, 63, of Lubbock passed away Aug. 1, 2011, at his residence. Services for Mr. Taff was Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, in Saint Luke’s Methodist Church with the Rev. Mike Springer officiating. Services are under the direction of Calvillo Funeral Home & Chapel. The family received friends at the funeral home Friday, Aug. 5, 2011.

Stephen David Taff was born May 13, 1948, in Springfield, Mass., to the late John Lee and Frances Taff. He was in the United States Army and served in Vietnam from 1967 to 1970. He married Inethia Perry on April 17, 1971, in Lubbock. He was a resident of Lubbock for the past 50 years and worked in water and utilities for many years. Steve enjoyed playing golf, hunting and one of his great joys in life was spending time in San Saba, Texas, where he and Inethia planned to spend their retirement.

Steve is survived by his wife, Inethia Taff; one son, Stephen Thomas Taff; two daughters, Stephanie Denise Hagler and Darla Kay Smith, all of Lubbock; two brothers, William Thomas Taff of San Saba, Texas, and John Taff of Tyler, Texas; three sisters, Debra Watson and Mary Gossett, both of San Saba, Texas, and Darlene Wilson of Albuquerque, N.M.; four grandchildren, Stephen Tyler Taff, Arica Lee Smith, Madison Jena Rene Smith and Jordan Tanner Colbert; and his uncle, Jack Taff of San Saba.He was preceded in death by his parents, John Lee and Frances Taff, and one sister, Maureen Collier.The family wishes to thank their friends and family for all of the prayers and support during this difficult time.
