In an attempt to boost academics at SSHS, we are seeking accurate information on students of the past that have either scored perfect on the ACT or SAT, or even a perfect score on one of the parts of the ACT or SAT.

We are going to dedicate the middle section of the Trophy cases by the high school entrance for items and pictures of students for just academic reasons.

All of the students that were commended on all TAKS tests for last year will have an 8X10 picture in the case. We even had 6 students in three different subjects record a perfect score on last years TAKS.

Each student from the past will have their performance verified with past records. "Our aim is to have students walk by the trophy case each day and see themselves or classmates that have done exceptionally well and have those students shoot for higher academic goals than ever before," said Mr. Martin.

On each notice, Mr. Martin and counselor Dana Pannell will go to the student's cumulative record and verify the successes of the past. Please contact us about friends of your children that may or may not know about this new initiative.
