Elm Grove Echoes

There is still no rain and none in the forecast. We were disappointed when we didn’t get any rain off of the hurricane. I know it will come sooner or later, we have to just keep on hoping and praying!

I lost a niece last week. Oleta (Mitchel) Reed, who we just recently visited in Ozona, passed away. She had battled a heart problem for years and then was diagnosed with leukemia. She was gone in less than two months. Her funeral services were held in Ozona.

The 42 tournament will be August 13th in Mercury at the community center. The Elm Grove community meeting will be August 20th at 7:30 pm.

The Busy Bee quilting will be cancelled until further notice due to illnesses and other conflicts. One of our most faithful quilters is Gloria Lusty and she is seriously ill at the time. We send her our best wishes for a speedy recovery.

I went to Bangs and spent the weekend with Ken and Lanell Parson and family. Michael and Marilyn Suber spent the weekend in San Angelo with Stacie, Santos and Sophia Elizondo and Bethany Suber. Santos’ Dad is seriously ill and needs our prayers.

The big Elm Grove Rodeo begins this Thursday night at 8:30 pm. It will continue through Saturday night with a trail ride Saturday morning and a barbecue Saturday afternoon. Come and bring the whole family.
