The San Saba City Council convened for a called meeting prior to a budget workshop on Monday, July 25th at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers. Acting Mayor, Martha Leigh Whitten called the meeting to order, welcomed everyone to the meeting and announced a quorum present with Mayor Ken Jordan and Councilman Shawn Oliver absent. Mark Amthor gave the invocation followed by everyone joining for the pledges to the American and Texas flags.

City Manager, Stan Weik announced that the July Employee of the Month is awarded to Luis Rios. The presentation will be at a later date because Luis could not attend the meeting.

The Council approved the following Action Item:

1. A short term loan of $6,450 from hotel/motel tax receipts to San Saba Festival Association to help pay for entertainment at the Pecan Jam on October 22, 2011. Loan to be repaid immediately after event.

The following supervisor’s presented their budget requests:

A. Clifton Ott, Street Department.

B. Farrel Whitley, Parks Department.

C. Wayne Yarbrough - Water Administration, Water Plant, Water Distribution, Waste Water, Waste Water Plant and Waste Water Collection.

D. Larry Alderson, Electric Department.

Acting Mayor, Whitten adjourned the meeting.
